Black Cloak

In September 2020, Jyou MIYAKE from Shark Attack appeared on the scene with the song 'Highway to the Hell',

an unearthed recording from 1988, and created a sensation secretly.

Now, after 30 years from Shark Attack, a new song has arrived.

Jyou MIYAKE has been recorded these songs by himself, and his handmading process has definitely left its mark on the sound.

Like Shark Attack, it has its own unique taste, and the title and phrasing are catchy and addictive, and it is actually a great song.

2020年９月、88年の発掘音源ともいうべき「地獄のハイウェイ」をひっさげて登場し、

ひそかに話題を醸したバンド、Shark AttackのJyou MIYAKE。

この度、なんと30年の時を超えて形にされた新曲が到着しました。

一人でコツコツと演奏を重ね録りし、仕上がった曲には、彼の手の跡が音に確実に残っています。

Shark Attack同様、独特の味わいがあり、タイトルやフレーズもクセになるキャッチーさで、実際、名曲です。

I couldn't resist the urge to play the guitar again and write a song, so I did.

I was very happy to have the song, ‘Highway to the Hell’ of my band, Shark Attack played and heard by everyone on Kikeru Radio.

And the thought of what kind of music I could make now, and whether I should try again, became stronger and stronger.

So I opened my dusty guitar case.

However, I hadn't even touched a guitar, so I managed to write three songs through trial and error.

The title of the single, ‘Black Cloak’ was in my head when I was about 20 years old, but I couldn't write up a song at that time,

and it was forgotten.

This time, I suddenly remembered this ‘Black Cloak’ and picked up my guitar to sing it. I think I can do it! So, with the feeling of the 20 year old,

I created a song that transcends time and space, sung by a over 50 year old man.

My twisted personality may not have changed much from then to now, but I think I've become more mature and have a little more room in my heart. After all, it is a song written by an amateur who thought it up by himself.

It's not much, but I hope you enjoy it.

どうしても、またギターを弾いて曲を作りたい衝動に駆られたので作りました。

Shark Attackの曲を流していただいて、皆さんに聞いていただけた事はとても嬉しかったです。

ただ、今の自分だったらどんな曲が作れるだろうか、もう一度挑戦してみようか、という思いが

どんどん強くなって、埃をかぶったギターケースを開けました。

とはいえ30年近く、ろくにギターに触っていません、あれこれ試行錯誤しながら、どうにかこうにか3曲作ることができました。

シングルタイトルになっている「黒いマント」と言う曲は２０歳位の時に、この言葉と内容のイメージは頭に浮かんだのですが、当時の僕には完成させることができず、そのまま忘れ去られていました。

今回ふと、この「黒いマント」の事を思い出してギターを手に歌ってみたら、あれ？なんか出来そうだぞ！と言う事で20歳の気持ちで50過ぎのおじさんが歌う時空を越えた曲が出来上がりました。当時と今とでは、ひねくれた性格はあまり変わって無いのかも知れませんが、大人になって少し心に余裕ができたのかもしれません。所詮、素人が一人で考えて作った曲です。

大したものでは有りませんが、楽しんでいただけると幸いです。Play it loud !
