Namidakun no iru tokoro (A Place Where the Teardrop Is) is a culmination of Minoru Tanaka’s active role as a DJ under the moniker TanaK, mastermind behind the Tori Label that fans have humorously dubbed “Tottori prefecture's K Records,” and honcho in running the newly launched Minoon Soft label. The cassette release includes 5 versions of the title track which features Tanaka’s idiosyncratic style of singing, best described as a “karaoke style" that employs subtle melismatic singing with an exaggerated vocal vibrato. The B-side contains four more endearing songs that are sometimes bluesy, other times silly, but always amusing. Calvin Johnson should be proud.
Produced by Ju Muraoka and Minoru Tanaka
Track 1, 3, 4 and 5 arranged by Daisaku Hayashi
