Souvenir

A souvenir comes with a journey. Look at a souvenir and imagine what kind of place it came from.

The memory of trip is a souvenir to myself. I look back the writing on the map I got at the information center. I ask to the stone which I picked up for stone-loving son of the friend if I can take it home, and the stone says "yes". I hum a meaningless song.

The handwritten postcard from a travel destination imitated the shape of a postage stamp.

お土産には旅が付いてくる。お土産を眺め、どんなところから来たのか想像してみる。

旅の記憶は自分に対してのお土産だ。案内所でもらった地図の書き込みをなぞる。石が好きな友人の息子のために拾った石に「持って帰ってもいいですか」と聞くと、「はい」と響いた。出鱈目なうたを口ずさむ。

旅先から届いた手書きの絵葉書は、切手の形を模していた。葉書大の一枚の切手。

この作品が旅を振り返るきっかけになったら嬉しい。
