Kiniro no Uta

綿が必要だと、思い詰めていました。

たくさんのかけらを拾って包み込む綿が必要だと。

どのかけらも丁寧に包む必要が柔らかな綿の中に。

みぎほほにある、大きなシミ達を気にしながらそれでもここにある様々な色は、自分がその肌の色になれたかもしれないという、大きな可能性でもあって、どうしてこれを消すことが、美であり正しさであるとされるのか、毎朝考え、そして忘れる。

楽曲も同じで、はじめはとても歪な美しさが並んでいても、曲が進むにつれ、あるラインに沿った美しさに収拾されていく。それはそれで心地はいいのだけれど、あの歪はどこにいくのだろうと残念な気持ちにもなる。

どのかけらも、ひろいあつめて、つなぐことをせず、ただそこで輝いていけたら。

かけらは種子になる。

種子に必要なのは、綿ではなく土とあめしずく。

この変な作りの曲たちをライブでどうやってやるのか、試行錯誤しながら、形になった楽曲です。 ただただ暖かく見守ってくれたARARAスタッフの皆様。ありがとうございます。

I was so convinced I needed cotton.

I needed cotton to pick up all those fragments and wrap them up.

Each fragment needed to be carefully wrapped in soft cotton.

While worrying about the large blemishes on my right cheek, the various colors there represented a great possibility—that I could have become that skin color. Every morning I wondered why erasing them was considered beauty and righteousness, and then I forgot.

It's the same with music; at first, a very distorted beauty is presented, but as the song progresses, it converges into a beauty that follows a certain line. That's pleasant in its own way, but I also feel a sense of regret, wondering where that distortion goes.

If only each fragment could shine without being picked up and connected.

The fragments become seeds.

What seeds need isn't cotton, but soil and raindrops.

These strangely structured songs are the result of trial and error in figuring out how to perform them live.
