No, sir.

Four high school classmates came together in 2002 to form Jon no son and went on to record two albums together at university. By the time they entered their busy late twenties, the four of them competed, almost in the manner of jealous lovers, to come up with the best songs and ideas.

Their third album, "No, sir.", was recorded across 10 locations in Aichi prefecture, including in the home, community centers, and practice studios. The process took the better part of three years between 2008 and 2011. Instead of having a single member sticking to a single instrument, the band made things as complicated as possible, from time to time including a veritable party of guests.

Pushing the boundaries of the unadorned, lo-fi aesthetic, the band simultaneously occupies a space and drives forward, using their musicality and critical nature, to create a new kind of pop. Jon No Son have followed on from bands such as Teasi and Gonzo Murakami to become one of the central bands in the new Nagoya scene.

2002年、ジョンのサンは高校の同級生４人で結成し、大学在学時に2枚のアルバムを製作。

それぞれが20代後半で、忙しくなり始めた時期に、4人全員がやきもちやきのライバルのように競って曲を書き、アイデアを練った。

そして、自宅、公民館、練習スタジオなど愛知県内10ヶ所で、この3作目「No,sir.」を録音、2008～2011年の3年間を費やしました。

メンバーの担当楽器を固定せず、その時々でなるべくややこしい方法を採り入れ、また曲者ゲストも多数参加。

装飾をどこまでも避けたローファイ感と、そこにとどまりながら進むような演奏、そして、限りない音楽愛と批評性により、新しいポップスがここに生み出されています。teasiや村上ゴンゾの流れを受け継ぎながら、新しい名古屋のシーンを形成している中心的バンドです。
