Niji to ninjin E.P

This E.P was released on CD-R in 2016 by Andersens.

At the time, I lost my house and moved into a friend's house in Koenji to live with him.

I had been away from recording for a while, but the house had all kinds of equipment and an environment where I could record.

When I was confronted with this environment, a feeling of "I want to record! I had been writing songs that I wanted to record.

I had a lot of songs that I had written, so with the help of my engineer, Keiichiro Kato, I started to make the E.P.

We didn't have a drummer in the band at the time, so we used a rhythm box for the whole album.

When I listen to this work again, I wonder if this bumpy sound is working well.

Shizue Sato is originally a trombone player, but she played keyboards on this recording.

I remember how impressed I was many times during the recording process, because her sparkling playing and the way she accompanies the songs are truly unique.

I remember being moved many times during the recording process. With Koji Ishikura on bass, the song seems to have a breadth that you would never expect from a recording by just three people.

This is a small record of one summer in 2016, but I hope that Minna Kikeru will reach the ears of as many people as possible.

アンデルセンズの2016年にCD-Rでリリースした作品です。

その頃、僕は家を失くして高円寺の友人の家に転がり込み、共同生活をしていました。

しばらくレコーディング活動からは遠ざかっていたのですが、その家には様々な機材と録音ができる環境がありました。

その環境を前にした時、心の底から「録音したい！」という感情がめきめきと沸いてきたのです。

書き溜めていた曲はたくさんあったので、エンジニアの加藤啓一郎くんの力を借りてE.P.の製作に入りました。

当時のライヴメンバーにはドラマーがいなかったので全編にわたりリズムボックスを使っているのですが、聴き返すとこのポコポコした音が功を奏してるのかなぁと思います。

佐藤しずえさんは本来はトロンボーン奏者なのですが、この録音ではキーボードで参加してもらっています。

彼女らしい閃きのあるプレイと曲への寄り添い方は本当に唯一無二であり、レコーディング中に何度も感動したのを覚えています。

ベースの石倉康司くんのプレイも含め、3人だけでレコーディングしたとは思えない広がりが曲の中にあるようにも聴こえてきます。

2016年のひと夏のささやかな記録ですが、Minna Kikeruで少しでも多くの人の耳に届いてくれればと願っています。
